Looking at the budget this weekend. Ran some quick numbers last night. Getting closer to a new car for the missus. I’m intrigued by carvana and the free one week test drive and at home delivery.

Has anyone used them? Heard good things? Heard bad things?

For your time.

Crackvana.

Just. Don’t. Their prices are bullshit (10%+ over KBB.) Their photos are deliberately misleading. Their inspection consists of an intern going “yep, it’s a car with four tires.” Their repairs are performed by the same intern. You have to use their financing, which is a sub-sub-prime shithole.

I don’t think I’ll be using their financing.

Oh, you don’t get a choice in the matter. You either use their sub-sub-prime lending arm, or they won’t sell you a car. Lots of reports of them jerking around outside financing or just refusing it. I saw something I liked (without realizing they lied about the conditions regularly,) I inquired about straight cash, “no. You must finance.”

“no. You must finance.”

Lol, they can fuck right off with that.

Pretty much what I said. And that’s before I found out that when you actually look at their cars, they’re just completely  thrashed. Major paint damage, major interior damage, unrepaired mechanical problems galore. (Meaning they’re way more than 10% over KBB.) Best guess is that they buy the lease returns that get dumped at auction.
